Hello! Welcome to Dani's Review Room. It's now time for some makeup "Blible Studies." Here it is important to be quiet and listen up to this important product review! Today we are discovering MAC's Art Library Nude Edition. There are two other editions to this collection (Flame-Boyant and It's Designer [it's designer is limited edition]) but it is important to focus on one thing at a time while learning!

Let's start with some background information. The MAC Art Library Nude Edition palette is an eyeshadow palette with a mirror included. The palette is a sturdy plastic that displays the palettes color swatches on the front. The palette includes twelve (12) eyeshadows : One (1) Shimmer, four (4) Frost, and seven (7) Matte shades. The shades are:

*Shroom - a white/opal shimmer

*Gogh Lightly - a deep gold frost

*Outre - a gold matte

*Sandstone - a light brown matte

*L.E.S. Artiste - a rose toned brown frost (my personal favorite!)

*Drop The Robe - a rose gold frost

*Tete-A-Tint - a peachy nude matte

*Espresso - espresso matte brown

*Pleasing to the Eye - light mauve matte

*Nude Model - copper rose frost

*Sugar Plum - violet/plum matte

*Dance in the Dark - deep plum matte

Throughout my studies in the history of makeup, I would give this palette a 8.5 out of 10. My reasoning for this rating is I like that the palette isn't flimsy, portable in a medium bag, and has a large mirror perfect for application. These are all great qualities to have for a makeup palette! I also like how it's a great everyday palette that can easily be transformed into a night out palette with the frost and shimmer shades. The frost shades are absolutely beautiful and pigmented! They glide on easily with both brush and fingers. My personal favorite is L.E.S. Artiste, this color is so gorgeous that it looks almost foiled! Another favorite shadow is Tete-A-Tint. Tete-A-Tint is a marvelous versatile matte it's peachy nude matte that can be worn on its own, be applied as a transitioning color in the crease, or even to highlight the eye.

My only complaints with this palette is with a couple colors. One color in particular is Pleasing to the Eye. I actually was really excited for this color. If you look at the pan, it looks like a nice matte mauve which would be an awesome transitioning (crease) color or even eyelid color but sadly it had absolutely no pigment. Even after reapplication three times it was extremely light. Light to a point you can hardly even see it. Which is why in my description of the shadow, I noted it a "light" mauve. This color is very deceiving in the pan. The other color I wasn't a fan of was Dancing in the Dark. This shadow is a dark plum color but it as well was not super pigmented and splotchy. It's not an easily blendable shadow and needs a lot of buildup. The color caused more annoyance than anything.

For the fact that those two colors were not up to what I would think as MAC standards is why I rated the palette an 8.5. For an expensive prestige brand palette, consumers expect the best and there are a ton of nude/natural shadow based palettes out there. BUT SHHHHHHHH it's no secret that this palette is great for everyday looks and encompasses a lot of beautiful colors. I would have given the palette a 10/10 if the disappointment of what looks like two amazing shades in the pan (and needed in such a palette) actually performed without a lot of work.

Overall the MAC Art Library Nude Edition is a nice palette addition to your makeup library! The palette cost is $48 US dollars. You can find this palette at MAC stores and online. I purchased mine from Ulta (some Ulta locations have MAC, you have to look those locations up!)

Hope everyone enjoyed our makeup Blible studies today! Remember you'll swear by it!
